Bellevue Police asks community for help following strong-arm robbery in Factoria on Sunday morning

The Bellevue Police Department is asking community members for help following a strong-arm robbery incident in the city’s Factoria neighborhood earlier this morning.

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on April 27, Bellevue Police were dispatched to the 3900 block of Factoria Square Mall SE to reports of a robbery. The victim, a 68-year-old woman, told officers two individuals driving in a gray SUV approached her and asked for directions. She complied with their request but refused to accept their cash when the suspects attempted to thank her. It was then when the suspects got angry and allegedly shoved the victim to the ground. The suspects also yanked a necklace from the victim’s neck before leaving the area.

The victim was treated at the scene by Bellevue Fire with non-life-threatening injuries and did not need to be transported to a hospital.

Bellevue Police are asking community members who may have been near the area at the time of the incident to contact law enforcement immediately. Any individual with information can call the department’s non-emergency line at 425-577-5656 or submit a tip at bellevuepd@bellevuewa.gov.

Additionally, Bellevue Police Department asks all community members – particularly older individuals – to use caution when being approached by strangers in vehicles and follow these simple prevention tips:

  • Travel in groups
  • Do not approach the vehicles
  • Do not accept gifts from strangers
  • Stay vigilant and aware of your surroundings

Most of all, Bellevue Police asks residents to call 911 should they feel their safety or well-being is in jeopardy.
