Officers responded to Newcastle Beach Park for a found child. The 3 year old child had been playing with another group of kids for over an hour, however no one knew the parent. Eventually the father appeared and told officers he had been watching the child the entire time from his vehicle. Father had a warrant and was arrested. CPS was contacted and the child was turned over to them. |

NARRATIVE
Bellevue PD officers were dispatched to a hit/run collision involving a police pursuit. A WSP trooper attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on southbound I-405. The suspect vehicle exited the freeway recklessly made a left turn from the right turn only lane and drove into oncoming traffic as it traveled eastbound on Coal Creek PKWY SE. The suspect vehicle became trapped in the left turn only lanes so it rammed itself between the two victim vehicles, damage caused/no injury. The suspect vehicle continued on Coal Creek PKWY SE with WSP still in pursuit. Ultimately, the suspect was captured by WSP at his home and arrested for eluding. BPD provided support to WSP by contacting the victims and releasing the City of Bellevue traffic camera video. No BPD officers were involved in the pursuit. Command notified. |

Suspect ran a red light at the off ramp from SB 405 and turned left onto EB NE 4th. A taxi had the green light and was coming WB on NE 4th and T-boned the suspect vehicle. Suspect had significant injuries along with his passenger. Both were transported to the hospital. Taxi driver had minor injuries and was transported to the hospital. Charges pending. |
