Theft/Assault

Security called police stating, they were struggling with a theft suspect.  While en route, officers learned the suspect had been detained, and an associated vehicle that had been waiting for the suspect had fled the location.  Responding officers located and stopped the associated vehicle, which yielded without incident.  Following the investigation, officers discovered the suspect attempted to steal several hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise.  When confronted by security, the suspect pushed through them and tried to flee but was unsuccessful.  The incident did not meet the elements for Robbery, so the suspect was arrested for Theft 3rd and Assault 4th.  There were no injuries to any party. The occupants of the vehicle were not involved in the theft and/or assault and were identified and released. The suspect was booked into jail.

A suspect was observed driving from the parking lot over a sidewalk and turning across the C-Curbing on NE 8^th St. He was processed for DUI with a blood-alcohol level of .198. He was released to a sober relative.

A check of the vehicle plate showed the registered owner had a No Bail Felony DOC warrant.  An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for the warrant.  He was booked into jail.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation. The officer observed drug paraphernalia at passenger’s feet.  The passenger had a no-bail DOC Escape Warrant, and he was arrested and booked into jail.

Officers noted a vehicle in the park and ride and determined the vehicle was possibly stolen.  Upon inspection, the vehicle was occupied.  The vehicle was confirmed stolen.  The occupant was arrested and booked for Possession Stolen Vehicle, Car Theft Tools, and Possession Stolen Property.

Gov. Inslee had an event at the above location. The learning community for Bellevue School District became aware of the event. Approximately 30 subjects showed up at the school and peacefully protested to open schools. The Bike Team monitored the crowd. The event had no issues.

The reporting party viewed a possible physical domestic disturbance with firearms present. Officers arrived and determined there was not assault, but there were many firearms in the residence. After clearing the scene, officers learned that the involved male had changed his name and physical descriptors and had been incorrectly recorded in NCIC.  He was a convicted felon. Detectives responded to write a search warrant and later arrested the suspect and seized weapons.

Reckless Burning

An officer observed smoke coming from the rear of the business and went to investigate. The officer observed the suspect had started a fire in the brush behind the business. The officer extinguished the fire, and the fire dept responded to the scene. The suspect was summoned and released from the scene. There was no damage to the business or other property.

Police responded to a shoplifter in custody and determined that the suspect had concealed multiple items on her person and attempted to leave the store without paying. The suspect was arrested, and the stolen merchandise was returned to the business. Due to substantial health issues, the suspect was advised she would be summoned in the mail with a court date and released at the scene.

Officers contacted the suspect for a traffic violation and observed drug paraphernalia within the vehicle and determined that the suspect was exhibiting the effects of impairment. A DUI investigation was initiated, probable cause was established, and the suspect was arrested. The suspect vehicle was parked and secured at the location.  The suspect was advised she would be summoned in the mail with a court date and released to a sober family friend.

Officers contacted the suspect for a traffic violation and determined that he was driving with a suspended license. PC established and suspect arrested. A search following the arrest netted Drug Paraphernalia and approximately (3.85) grams suspected methamphetamine. Because of multiple crimes committed and establishing suspect’s illegal intent to use, the drug items were seized and logged into evidence. The suspect was advised he would be summoned in the mail with a court date and released at the scene.

Officers contacted the suspect for a traffic violation and determined that the suspect had an outstanding, confirmed MISD Warrant out of Seattle Municipal Court for Possession of Dangerous Weapons. The suspect was taken into custody and a subsequent search netted drug paraphernalia from the suspect’s person. He was advised he would be summoned with a court date for the Illegal Drug Paraphernalia, and the warrant was placed back into the system.

Officers contacted the suspects for a traffic violation and determined that the first suspect had given a false name.  After properly identifying him, the officers learned he had an outstanding, confirmed felony warrant out of the Department of Corrections. Officers also observed drug paraphernalia in plain sight that a second suspect was attempting to hide. The second suspect was detained, identified, and officers confirmed he also had a confirmed felony warrant out of the Department of Corrections. Both suspects were booked into jail.

The suspect entered the location without a mask, and an employee asked the suspect to wear a mask. When the suspect refused, the employee told him he would have to leave. The suspect hit the employee in the face and left. The employee followed the suspect to get his vehicle plate. The suspect turned around and pushed the employee down. The suspect fled the scene in his vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

A suspect violated a No Contact Order by coming over to the victim’s apartment. The victim allowed the suspect to come inside, and later in the day, they got into a loud argument and the police were called. Both admitted they were not supposed to be with each other. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

Unknown suspect(s) broke a rear sliding glass door with a rock. The house was ransacked, and a firearm was stolen.  At the time of the report, the victim was unable to provide a caliber or serial number but stated it was a gray Bersa handgun.  The investigation is ongoing.

A K9 officer and his partner responded to assist Kirkland Police with a Commercial Burglary in progress. The K9 teamed tracked a scent from the victim business to a parking lot nearby and lost the scent.

Before engaging in the thievery at the business above, the suspect threatened an employee at this location. The suspect threatened the employee and was upset he had been arrested the previous day for theft at this same location. He was arrested and released with a summons.

Domestic Disturbance

Officers were dispatched to an Order Violation, and the order was unserved.  Upon arrival at the residence, the front door was found wide open, but no one was around.  Officers conducted a welfare check of the residence and found it empty (no signs of a struggle/forced entry).  Attempts to contact the reporting party by phone were unsuccessful.  However, the male half was observed walking through the parking lot.  He had no visible injuries or signs of a struggle.  The male reported that the reporting party had left with friends.

Theft with Extenuating Circumstances / Fraud

A suspect entered the location, stole $459 worth of merchandise by defeating sensors with tools and foil, then attempted to flee the scene.  He was a convicted felon for Theft 2.  Once arrested, he was found to be in possession of another person’s ID and several credit cards.  He was booked into jail.

Harassment

The victim reported that he ordered Door Dash, and the driver called and swore at the victim, stating he couldn’t find his address.  Once there, the victim came outside and had no mask on.  The suspect refused to roll his windows down due to this.  The suspect then called the victim and told him he would not give him his food until he wore a mask.  The victim then started to hit the suspect’s window and yelled at him to give him his food.  The suspect then exited the car, yelled a racial slur, and moved toward the victim, which caused him to run away in fear.  While running back to his apartment, the victim slipped and scraped his knee.  The suspect did not pursue him.  The victim did not want a report or to be a victim.  Based on the nature of the call, a report was taken.  The officer was unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect entered the location against a trespass order for the fourth time and second time within a couple of hours of being summoned for Trespass, in violation again, in the same area.  To prevent further violations since he refused to comply, he was arrested and booked into jail.

Felony Warrant Arrest

Officers located a suspicious vehicle with switched license plates and an Unlawfully Filled out Trip Permit. The officers set up surveillance of the vehicle and initiated contact with the driver of the vehicle as he exited a business. The officers determined that the suspect had an outstanding, confirmed felony warrant out of the Department of Corrections for escape. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to jail, but the jail refused to book him due to a lack of medical beds. The suspect was released, and the warrant was placed back into the system. The officer contacted Seattle PD for follow-up at the suspect’s residence. The suspect was summoned in the mail with a court date for a multitude of criminal traffic violations.

Police contacted the suspect in connection with a theft investigation. The suspect was positively identified by employees and refused to pay for approximately $200 in product and services. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

Assault Investigation

Police responded to a disturbance with a knife. While en-route to the scene, officers were advised by police radio that the victim was being assaulted with a knife. Officers arrived on scene, formed an Immediate Action Team, breached through a security door, and located the victim at his apartment. He was extremely distraught. Officers determined that the victim was unharmed but was most likely under the influence of drugs with a history of mental health calls. After interviewing the victim, officers determined that he was allowing homeless transients to stay at his apartment, and while in an argument with an unknown female suspect that he had invited over, the suspect assaulted him and stole his laptop computer. The suspect could not be located, and Bellevue Fire Medics responded to provide aid to the victim.  The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect stole eight backs of cigarettes.  An officer observed the suspect in a nearby adjacent business, and a foot pursuit ensued.  The suspect ran southbound along the railroad tracks before disappearing into a nearby car dealership.  Various officers conducted a search, and the suspect was found by the original officer hiding in a dumpster under garbage bags.  The subject was arrested and booked into jail.

Officers were summoned to this location due to a male subject slumped over the wheel of his vehicle in the roadway.  Upon being roused and seeing the police, the subject immediately drove off at a high rate of speed.  An area check for the suspect was negative. There was no pursuit.

A subject was running into and out of traffic. As officers arrived, they saw him on a sidewalk.  As officers drove towards the subject, he immediately jumped up and ran into the road in front of the patrol vehicle, almost being struck.  The subject was in distress and admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamines. The officers safely took him into protective custody, and he was taken to the hospital.

An ex-boyfriend was pounding on the door of a female subject. The male, who has a $50k arrest warrant for violation of order in Bellevue, fled prior to police arriving.  The male subject never entered the apartment, and no assault occurred.  The court order between the male and female subject expired in January 2021.  The female subject reported that the male subject had been sending her harassing text messages.  Those messages included threats, including a picture of a handgun and a large amount of cash, plus other derogatory statements about assault/rape.  The investigation is ongoing.

A victim reported that a male accosted her while she was walking to her vehicle. The victim recognized the male as a person who frequents the area aggressively approaching pedestrians, but she did not know his name. At one point, the male spat in her direction as he confronted her, but he missed his mark.  The investigation is ongoing.

Officers responded to a disturbance involving a transient male subject accosting and chasing pedestrians. Officers checked the area and located a subject matching the description. The subject denied the actions mentioned. However, witnesses were contacted, and the officer substantiated that this suspect was a threat to others. He was placed into protective custody and transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
