Today at 2:08 p.m., Bellevue Police responded to a reported assault in the Kelsey Creek Shopping center, which is located on the southeast corner of 148th Avenue and Main Street in Bellevue. When Officers arrived, they located a victim with non-life-threatening stab wounds. Investigators learned that the victim was a courier who was transporting an undisclosed amount of jewelry in his vehicle. A suspect approached the victim while he was seated in his vehicle in the parking lot, broke the drivers’ side window, and forcibly removed him from the car. The victim was then stabbed at least once, and the jewelry he was transporting was taken. The suspect then left in a vehicle.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives are at the scene investigating, and a portion of the parking lot remains closed during the investigation. Police believe this was a targeted attack, and do not believe that there is any ongoing threat to the community.
