NARRATIVE
The victim stopped on the freeway offramp to assist a male with his broken down car. A female and small child were in the car as well. The suspect offered a Rolex watch and several necklaces and rings to the victim in exchange for money to get his car fixed and running, to which the victim agreed. The suspect’s car started up and the suspect followed the victim to the bank. The victim withdrew an undisclosed amount and handed it over to the suspect in exchange for what the suspect said was over $15,000 worth of gold jewelry. The victim took the items to a jeweler, who told him it was all costume jewelry and was worth nothing. |

A renter called to report that he had video of the suspect across from his apartment shooting live rounds into his own deck from a pistol shortly before he called. Officers contacted the suspect and had them exit the apartment. Two subjects were detained. A pistol was located inside bedroom of residence. An investigation revealed that the pistol fired blanks. The suspect stated that he was trying to scare his cat. Suspect was intoxicated. The suspect’s roommate agreed to take care of him for the rest of the night. No crime occurred. |

While patrolling a parking lot, the Officer conducted a license plate inquiry which revealed that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. A traffic stop was initiated. The owner was driving and provided a false name. Evidence of possible identity crimes was also located. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail. |

Approximately 12 dumpsters were set on fire in Bellevue and an additional 10-12 dumpsters in Redmond. Officers began canvassing the area for further fires as well as anyone who could possibly be a suspect. An Officer contacted a witness who stated that he saw who he believed to be the suspect in the area. King County’s Guardian 1 helicopter arrived and assisted in locating other fires as well as the suspect in a nearby wooded area. The suspect was located and arrested for trespassing and arson. Detectives will follow up. |

NARRATIVE
Officers responded to a report of a subject who was throwing items and destroying his condo. The victim, who was the suspect’s mother, was able to exit the residence and call police. Investigating officers learned that the suspect was also violating a valid no contact order by being in the residence with his mother. After several attempts to contact the suspect, BPD Crisis Response Team and SWAT members were called out and negotiated with the subject. Officers took the suspect into custody that afternoon without incident. No injuries to the officers or suspect. |

The Officer, who was a trained crisis negotiator, stopped his vehicle and began speaking to the male. He was able to successfully talk him back onto the bridge deck police stopped traffic. The man began to run to the other side of the overpass to jump, and the off-duty Officer tackled the man, who was taken into protective custody. |
