NARRATIVE
An officer observed an occupied stolen vehicle on I-405. The officer attempted a traffic stop but quickly shut down when the vehicle accelerated away from him eastbound on SE 8th St. When the officer got to Lake Hills Connector and SE 8th St. he could see there was smoke east of the intersection. He drove that direction and saw that the vehicle had apparently failed to make the curve into the Wilburton neighborhood and crashed into a wooded area. The driver suffered injuries and was transported to Overlake Hospital for treatment. She was later booked into jail. The passenger had an outstanding warrant and was transported to Overlake Hospital as a precaution. The traffic unit and chain of command were notified. |

The suspect flattened multiple tires while driving her vehicle and was heard screaming by the reporting party. Officers were able to place her in actual physical control of the vehicle and determined that she was intoxicated and impaired. The suspect was arrested. |

The suspect entered the store and stole merchandise then fled on foot. Loss prevention attempted to stop the suspect in the parking lot where the suspect produced a weapon and threatened an employee. An officer entered the lot at the same time the suspect produced the weapon, causing the suspect to throw it under a vehicle. Officer took the suspect into custody and located the weapon. The suspect was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamines and was subsequently arrested and booked into jail. |
