On 7/29/19 an officer assisting with a collision investigation heard and witnessed a hit and run in the parking lot. The suspect saw the officer and failed to stop as commanded by him. He then attempted to stop the suspect using his emergency lights and siren. The suspect failed to yield. With Washington State Patrol assistance, the suspect stopped on the off-ramp of I-90 east at Lakemont Blvd. The suspect was arrested for hit and run. She was also found to be DUI. The suspect was transported to the hospital for evaluation and released to a sober friend. |

As an officer arrived on another call, a shoplifting suspect was just exiting a store. The suspect saw the patrol car and jumped into the bushes with two bags full of merchandise that was stolen. An observant Security Guard advised the officer of the female hiding in the bushes and the officer challenged her to come out. The officer observed the two full bags with tags still on them. The officer detained the female, investigated and found that the bags contained $1200 in merchandise. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail. |

Police responded to the above location to assist Bellevue Fire. Upon arrival, the investigating officer determined that Puget Sound Energy and BFD were called to the scene to investigate a possible gas leak coming from the empty apartment. Upon making entry, BFD discovered that an unknown suspect had turned on all the burners to the stove and appeared to be attempting to fill the apartment with natural gas, possibly to start a fire or cause an explosion. Bellevue Fire neutralized the natural gas threat. Police contacted the apartment management and was able to contact and interview the resident who has access. The investigating officer determined that the suspect is a vulnerable adult who was not intent on hurting anyone within the apartment complex. The officer also interviewed the suspect’s caregiver, confirming that the suspect is receiving adequate care. |

During the investigation, the suspect’s parents showed up at the location and decided to interject themselves into the disturbance. Despite being asked to leave by the victim and given multiple chances to do so, the parents refused to comply with the officer’s lawful requests and stated, “You’ll have to arrest us to get us to leave.” They were arrested. All three were booked into jail. |

He had been recently evicted from their apartment in Renton. Multiple attempts were made at the residence to contact the suspect, however, there was no answer at door. The suspect’s girlfriend stated that suspect was most likely asleep in residence. There was no physical assault on any victim or witnesses. Everyone agreed to stay somewhere else for the evening. Probable cause was established, the suspect was positively identified, and a summons was issued. |

While on a K9 perimeter looking for two suspects fleeing apprehension within the 900 block of Evergreen Pt Rd, radio broadcasted that two suspects matching the Medina call were attempting to start a vehicle at the above location. Officers responded to the location and initiated a high-risk stop on the suspect. The suspect was detained into handcuffs by the officer without incident and then decided to violently resist. The suspect injured his forehead and right ankle while fighting in handcuffs and had to be transported to the hospital for first aid. The suspect was turned over to Clyde Hill PD. |

An officer conducted a social contact and was not able to identify the subject. Just after the contact ended, a 911 call was received to report an emergency nearby that location. Dispatch quickly determined that the originating location of the 911 phone call was the same location. There was no evidence of the emergency at its reported location. Further investigation revealed that the female subject, who was originally contacted, likely had multiple misdemeanor warrants and the 911 call was placed as a diversion to allow her time to leave the area. |

Numerous welfare checks were conducted throughout the city. Luckily everyone was safely located. There were also numerous calls of mental-emotional persons in the city acting strangely. Two people were escorted out of the city. |
