It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the death of K-9 Ozzy – [End of Watch]: 07/08/2020. The 6-year-old German Shepard suffered a heart attack during a dental cleaning. K-9 Ozzy had been partners with Officer Ben Bradley since 2014.
“Ozzy was a loving, loyal, and brave member of the Bellevue Police Department. At 110 pounds, he was a force to be reckoned with,” said Sgt. Robin Peacey. “He was also a loveable goofball, seeking attention from those he loved, and he did silly things to get it.”
Ozzie was brought over from Slovakia and quickly learned police work. His first successful track netted three suspects detained for possession of a stolen vehicle in Newport Hills. He honorably served the Bellevue community for five years.
“We lost an officer, a brother, and a member of our family,” said Chief Steve Mylett. “Ozzy will be missed, and our prayers are with Officer Bradley, his family, and our entire K-9 family as they go through this difficult time.”
