An officer on proactive patrol contacted a driver who was passed out in his car, surrounded by suspected drug paraphernalia. After considerable effort to wake him, the driver identified himself and was found to have a felony warrant. Officer requested the driver exit the vehicle, and the suspect stated, “no way,” and started the vehicle, and fled at a high rate of speed eastbound on NE 8th St. He almost ran over his buddy who was adding coolant to the vehicle. Officers could not locate the suspect. He was summoned for DUI, reckless driving, obstruction, and Driving with License Suspended. |

The three suspects approached two victims and demanded their cell phones and money. One of the suspects brandished what later turned out to be an airsoft gun concealed in his waistband. That prompted the victims to run away, and the suspects chased the victims. One of the suspects assaulted one of the victims, demanding his cell and money while reaching toward the victim’s pocket. When officers arrived, the victims pointed out the suspects, who were seated on a bench nearby. All three suspects were arrested without incident, and the airsoft gun was recovered. |

Police responded to a call of a suspicious male who had released what appeared to be an unknown chemical into an occupied Metro Bus, causing the driver to make an emergency stop and evacuate all the passengers. Officers arrived and developed probable cause for assault. A K9 was unable to track the suspect. Later during the shift, officers determined the chemical release, most likely pepper spray, appeared to be accidental. It is unclear why the suspect fled. |
