The reporting party stated that a suspicious male in a red jacket was trying her doorknob, and it sounded as if he was trying to pick her lock. He was also banging on the door and disturbed multiple residents. Officers checked the complex and located him in the fenced patio area of a different apartment. That resident advised that he did not know the subject, and the subject did not have permission to be on his property and within the fenced area. The subject has a lot of local history for a variety of issues, including trespass and harassment. He was booked into jail for trespassing. |

Downtown Unit officers were driving around and observed a vehicle that came back as stolen. The officers broadcast the information and started devising a plan to make a traffic stop on the vehicle. As officers converged on the area and attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver took off. Other responding units stated that the car went into a parking structure and had not come out. DTU officers developed a plan and advised incoming officers to set up a perimeter around the structure. As they were walking into the garage, the driver of the stolen vehicle began to drive out of the garage. The officer ordered the male to stop the car, he did and was subsequently arrested and booked for possession of a stolen car and eluding. |

The suspect then attempted to choke the victim, but was unsuccessful, then grabbed a towel and wrapped it around the victim’s neck. The victim then broke free, and the suspect then stole his cell phone, but it didn’t prevent the victim from calling 911. The victim had several visible injuries but refused treatment. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail. |
