The Bellevue Police Department announced the additional arrests of suspects tied to the large-scale crime organization that targeted older community members across the region.
On Friday, April 10, Bellevue Police’s SWAT and Special Enforcement Team (SET) served a residential warrant at the 13000 block of 105th Place NE in Kirkland. All suspects at the residence – Simona Paun (41 years old), Maria Alexandra (25 years old), and Ion Miclescu (21 years old) – exited the home and were placed under arrest for the following crimes:
Fugitive From Justice for Theft 1st Degree out of Oregon (Alexandra)
Fugitive From Justice for Multiple Robberies out of San Diego, CA (Paun)
Robbery 2nd Degree (Lynwood PD) (Miclescu)
Bellevue Detectives searched the residence following the arrests and found substantial evidence connecting the suspects to crimes throughout the region, including Bellevue. Evidence included clothing worn during the crimes.
Paun was originally arrested on April 8 but was released on bail the following day. She was subsequently booked into the King County Jail on April 10 with bail set at $350,000. Alexandra was booked into the King County Jail on April 10 but was released on $10,000 bail on April 12. Miclescu was transferred over to the Lynnwood Police Department for crimes in that jurisdiction.
The investigation into this case is ongoing. Bellevue Police ask community members to always stay vigilant and exercise caution when approached by strangers. Additionally, community members are asked to call 911 if they witness or experience a theft incident. Information provided to law enforcement could assist in the investigation.
