Bellevue Detectives identified and arrested a prolific burglar in Seattle Wednesday evening. The 30-year-old is a suspect in at least 18 burglaries, including one in Bellevue, five in Redmond, and more than a dozen in Seattle.
The Bellevue burglary occurred on September 4th in an apartment building in the 10400 block NE 2nd St. Investigators found 33 storage lockers pried open, and belongings were strewn about the area. Security cameras recorded two suspects, a female, and a male.
The female was identified by her unique tattoo and arrested in north Seattle, driving a fraudulently rented white Nissan. She was seen at a burglary in Redmond driving the same car.
Suspect vehicle
Detectives booked her into jail on charges of Burglary, Vehicle Theft, and Identity Theft. Investigators are still looking for her male accomplice.
Bellevue detectives are working with the other jurisdictions to recover any stolen property and evidence to support those cases.
Bellevue police arrested a 44-year-old Edmonds man on charges of Commercial Sexual Abuse of a Minor, Child Molestation 2nd, and three counts of Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes. He has been charged and is currently in jail on $200,000 bail.
Theodore Therriault is accused of grooming a 13-year-old Bellevue girl by buying her gifts. When the victim’s mother found a brand-new iPhone, perfume, lingerie, and clothing that she did not purchase, she contacted the police.
Therriault’s 2015 Infinity QX60 confiscated after his arrest
During the investigation, detectives learned Therriault ordered ride-share cars to pick the girl up and take her to a mall or his home in Edmonds. He also drove the victim in his vehicle, which detectives seized following his arrest. The victim says she communicated with Therriault via Snapchat because the messages disappear.
“This case is further proof that the internet can be dangerous, especially for young people,” warned Major Travess Forbush. “Parents need to have open communication with their teens about what’s appropriate and what’s not on the internet. They need to know what social media channels and websites their kids use and who they’re communicating with,” Forbush added.
Experts say since most students are now online for school, the danger has never been greater. Washington Trafficking Prevention (WTP), a survivor-led organization committed to ending human trafficking in Washington State, reports at least a four-fold increase in reports of children being groomed on social media platforms since the pandemic began.
“Everyone is using social media to stay connected during the pandemic, yet that’s where most young people encounter unsafe relationships,” says WTP Executive Director Kyra Doubek. “The dangers of social media platforms are real. It’s the easiest way for an abuser to engage with potential victims and produces the highest return.”
Doubek says WTP helps parents and families safely navigate the online world and she offers these pointers:
Just because a child meets the minimum age recommended by social media sites doesn’t mean that they should have social media or need them.
Parents need to be familiar with apps and safety settings.
Set boundaries and realize if your kids aren’t always happy with you, you’re probably doing your job! It’s important to provide guidance and keep your kids safe.
TALK OFTEN about social media. Talk about boundaries, who kids can be friends with, and how to deal with online bullies. Make sure your kids know you are always there to walk with them through stuff they may be ashamed of or feel scared.

Bellevue detectives, in a joint operation with the FBI Seattle Division, arrested 24-year-old Isaiah Kanehisa-Glenn, and he has been charged with Promoting Prostitution, Tampering with a Witness, and violating a No Contact Order. Kanehisa-Glenn is accused of forcing a 22-year-old female into prostitution at a Bellevue hotel on August 27, 2020.
Investigators say Kanehisa-Glenn posted advertisements on several prostitution websites with the victim’s photograph and used his own phone number to communicate with potential sex buyers. Detectives called the phone number, made a date, then busted Kanehisa-Glenn as he left the hotel room with the victim inside.
Since Kanehisa-Glenn and the victim were together in the hotel room, he was charged with violating a No Contact Order. That order was issued after Kanehisa-Glenn was arrested and charged with DV Assault 2nd degree, DV Robbery, and Unlawful Imprisonment in Seattle in July. The same 22-year-old victim was involved in both cases.
$4,396 confiscated off suspect Kanehisa-Glenn
During a search after the arrest, detectives found $4,396 in Kanehisa-Glenn’s possession.
Bellevue police are connecting the victim with appropriate social services.

INCIDENT/CASE#

NARRATIVE
The suspect was contacted during an investigation of Malicious Mischief. The investigating officer determined that the suspect was responsible for breaking multiple, city-owned decorative planters within the downtown corridor. The suspect was identified by the witness as the person willfully damaging private property without provocation. He was arrested and booked into jail.
Bellevue police detectives have now either arrested or referred charges for 46 suspected looters who wreaked havoc in downtown Bellevue during the May 31st riots. Most of the suspects are facing charges of Burglary 2, Possession of Stolen Property, and or Malicious Mischief. In late June, Bellevue police announced 23 looting arrests. That number has now doubled, and more arrests are expected.
“Our detectives are combing through more than ten-thousand pieces of video evidence from store security cameras or the public,” says Major Travess Forbush. “It’s a tedious and time-consuming process, but an important one. We will continue to investigate, identify, and hold those responsible for the destruction in downtown Bellevue.”
As investigators search through the video, they are working to not only identify suspects but also build rock-solid cases with multiple layers of evidence. “We want to give prosecutors everything they need to try a successful case,” Forbush explains. “We are sending a clear message; we will not tolerate looting, and we will come after anyone responsible.”
Detectives still need help identifying suspects. These two were seen entering Rite Aid on May 31st. One has curly red hair, and the other has a large tattoo on his forearm. Neither one is wearing a mask. If you have any information, you can submit a tip to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound, and you’ll get a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip identifies a suspect or leads to their arrest. 1-800-222-TIPS(8477)
