Officers were called to assist the Bellevue Fire Department for a fire possibly started by fireworks at the downtown library.  The fire was put out with no damage to other property.  The fire was actually a device on the sidewalk.  The Bomb Squad was notified and responded to inspect the device.  The library was evacuated as a precaution while waiting for further investigation.  A sweep of the library was performed, and no further devices were found.  The fire turned out to be a large battery pack for an electric bike that was recklessly started.  A suspect was later located in possession of an electric bike that was missing the battery pack. The suspect said another subject was with him, but that the other subject had fled before police arrived. The suspect was arrested for reckless burning.  A witness on the scene who was with the suspect was arrested on multiple Bellevue warrants.

An officer assisted Washington State Patrol at the hospital with the delayed report of a road rage incident.  During the altercation, a subject sustained injuries when he became angry at being cut off while driving.  He blocked the other driver and jumped onto the hood of his vehicle.  That driver then drove out of the area and the subject fell off.  No crime was established on the driver who left the area. The injured subject received treatment at the hospital.

A subject fled on foot when an officer tried to contact him. While officers checked the area, they discovered the subject had an outstanding warrant.  Officers quickly spotted the subject, when he was contacted he immediately became combative.  The subject was taken into custody and eventually had to be restrained in hobbles and a padded helmet.  A spit mask was also applied after he purposely spit on one of the officers.  The subject was booked into jail.  The subject was not injured and none of the involved officers were injured.  Chain of command was notified.

The principal at Sammamish High School contacted law enforcement after receiving a written threat to injure students at school. Sammamish HS initiated “Lock Out” procedures while officers investigated the incident. The subject was located at his residence and taken to the police station where he was interviewed by investigators regarding the threats. The subject was subsequently arrested for making the threats and booked into the King County Youth Center.

A suspect was seen walking on I-405 with a weapon in hand. The suspect left the freeway and entered a private residence’s backyard and went up on the deck with the weapon still in hand. The suspect took the homeowner’s hose and sprayed himself down with water.  Officers located the suspect and he ran into the woods.  After approximately 1 and 1/2 hours of negotiations with the suspect in the brush, he was arrested and booked into jail without incident.

Three intoxicated subjects became involved in a dispute.  The male suspect assaulted the first victim.  She broke free and left the apartment, however, the suspect followed her outside.  The suspect then grabbed her as he got into a car and began to drive away while dragging the victim across the parking lot.  The suspect lost his grip on the victim and drove onto an embankment and into a parked truck.  The suspect then exited the vehicle and went back to the apartment where he became involved in a physical dispute with the second victim. Officers arrived and confronted the subject outside of the apartment.  The suspect was verbally and physically non-compliant and a taser was deployed.  The suspect was then taken into custody without further incident and booked into jail.

An officer responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle containing two people.  Upon making contact, the officer determined that the male occupant was the respondent in a protection order and the female was listed as the protected person.  The male was placed under arrest for the order violation and booked into jail.

Suspicious Circumstances

An employee reported an unwanted subject at the location arguing with another employee. The employee told the first responding officer the subject brandished and pointed a firearm at them. The employee fled the area and hid in a storage closet. A description and photo were disseminated, and the subject was contacted and detained a short time later. Shortly after being arrested, the subject told the investigating officer there was video of the incident on his phone. The officer viewed the video and determined the subject never had a gun or made gestures consistent with having a gun in his hand. The charge was determined to be unfounded and the subject was released at the scene. At this time, there is no reason to believe the store employee lied about what she saw.

The suspects were unhappy with how their food order was processed, so one of the suspects jumped on the counter and threatened employees with a weapon. Several employees felt threatened by the display. The suspects left in a vehicle and were pulling into the parking lot of an apartment complex when they were contacted by 2 officers who were there on an unrelated call. The suspects were detained. Two weapons were recovered. Both suspects were arrested and booked into jail.

Officers responded to a delayed burglary investigation.  An unidentified suspect forced entry by shattering the front glass door of the business, stole merchandise and fled the scene. The suspect was wearing a hood over his head.  The investigation is ongoing.

An officer investigated a burglary alarm at the location and found the subject nearby. The subject was found to have a warrant issued for his arrest. The subject was arrested, transported, and booked into jail.

ID Theft

The subjects used a phone app to make payments for merchandise using two credit cards on the app.  Subjects made multiple payments and attempts (some were declined).  One of the cards was a credit card issued by the store, and loss prevention became suspicious, so they called the cardholder and confirmed that the subjects in the store did not have permission to have his card.  Both subjects were arrested without incident and booked into jail.

An officer was driving behind the suspect vehicle checking its plate when the vehicle quickly pulled into a parking lot and crashed into a large corporate sign.  The driver got out of the vehicle and took off running, however, forgot to put the car in park and it rolled over his own leg. The driver then resumed running away on foot, dropping a backpack he was carrying.  Officer chased suspect on foot and found him hiding on the ground a couple blocks away. Officers arrested the suspect without incident.  A search turned up suspected drugs and forged IDs.  The suspect also had outstanding warrants.  He was arrested and booked into jail.

Traffic Accident

4800 Bk Coal Creek Pkwy.

A traffic accident occurred when a vehicle was traveling northbound on Coal Creek Parkway at a high rate of speed and merged into oncoming traffic.  It collided with a tree after striking a vehicle that was in the southbound lanes and then came to rest approximately 15 feet off the roadway.  The investigation is ongoing.

Domestic Dispute

The subject was involved in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend at their apartment. The subject became increasingly agitated with his girlfriend and he assaulted her. Officers requested Seattle Police assistance to locate the suspect based on a related address in Seattle. The case was filed with the prosecutor.

An officer contacted the suspect sitting in his vehicle and he was found to have an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested without incident and transported to jail.

A victim’s residence was burglarized, and items were taken. The investigating officer took items as evidence for lab testing.

Accidental Shooting

The subject inadvertently discharged a round from a newly purchased pistol into a wall. The round penetrated the wall and was found inside the unit next door. The next-door neighbor was not injured. The subject was slightly injured. There is no evidence the subject intentionally discharged the firearm. The pistol was booked as evidence/safekeeping. Charges referred to the prosecutor for review.

The suspect grabbed the arm of a female and twisted it.  He also pushed her down while the subjects were riding a Metro bus.  The assault occurred during a disagreement about whether a window should be open.  The suspect was booked into jail.

An unidentified caller advised dispatch that he had taken seven hostages and was demanding a ransom.  Officers contacted the residents and confirmed that they were safe.  It was determined that the victim’s email account was hacked the day prior and multiple accounts were accessed.  Chain of command was notified.

The subject was contacted during a traffic stop.  It was determined he was driving with a suspended license and in possession of drugs.  The suspect was booked into jail without incident.

The subject was disrupting two businesses and local traffic before being detained.  Officers arrested the subject and a search uncovered suspected cocaine in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect was seen drinking in the parking lot and was asked to leave the property but refused. He ran when police arrived and asked him to stop. He was caught and taken to jail. No force was used.

The suspects approached the victim as she sat on a bench and grabbed her purse from around her arm. The suspects fled into a parking garage and were picked up in a green SUV. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was observed by loss prevention putting items in her bag and exiting the store. Security contacted her, recovered the stolen merchandise and then followed her until officers arrived. The suspect was booked into jail.

The suspects took a purse off a victim’s lap and fled.  The suspect’s car was located in Renton.  Renton PD gave chase and the suspect’s car crashed.   All the suspects fled, 4 were caught and booked into jail, possibly two are outstanding. Bellevue, Seattle and Renton detectives are all working together to files cases on the suspects.

The victim observed the subject in his car littering in the parking lot. The victim confronted the subject and was met with hostility.  The subject threw the garbage at and charged the victim. The victim pulled out pepper spray to defend himself and sprayed the subject.  The subject picked up a small rock and threw it at the victim’s back, then fled.

The suspect was seen smashing into several cars with his big black truck as he left a residence on Lake WA BLVD. Dispatch received another call about the same suspect truck as he drove south on Bellevue Way between lanes, on the sidewalk and in the bushes. The suspect managed to get onto I90 and passed out. Officers arrived, followed shortly by WSP. The suspect was woken up and turned the truck off without putting in in park causing it to roll into the BPD patrol car. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail.

The suspect and victim argued, and the suspect threatened the victim with a weapon.  A witness intervened and called the police.  The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

An intoxicated subject was observed by an officer while jaywalking and obstructing traffic.  Upon being contacted, the subject was verbally abusive and walked away.  The officer attempted to stop the subject and he turned and began throwing punches at the officer.  The officer was struck multiple times and fought back against the suspect.  When that was ineffective, he created distance from the suspect, drew his taser, and ordered the suspect onto the ground.  The suspect then complied and was taken into custody with other officers assisting.  The suspect was booked into jail.  The officer was checked at the scene and evaluated at the hospital for minor injuries.  Chain of command was notified.

An officer contacted a subject for park curfew.  She was belligerent throughout the contact and walked away from the officer despite his commands to stop.  After being detained, she continued to be non-compliant & verbally abusive and attempted to pull away from the officer’s grasp multiple times.  She also refused to identify herself during the investigation.  She was arrested and booked into jail.  Chain of command was notified.

Police contacted the suspects about a theft in progress. Officers responding to scene located the suspect vehicle fleeing westbound on NE 8 St and upon initiating a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle failed to yield and fled southbound on 112th Ave NE driving recklessly. Officers on scene discontinued their attempt at a traffic stop, however, they observed the fleeing vehicle crash in the 100 block of 112th Ave NE. Officers saw both suspects flee from the scene. Suspect-1 was arrested a short distance away.  K9 tracked and located suspect-2.  Both suspects were booked into jail.

The suspect was contacted during a traffic stop. The investigating officer determined that the driver was exhibiting the effects of Illegal drug consumption while driving.  A DUI investigation was conducted, and the driver arrested and processed for DUI.  The suspect was released to a sober family member.

The suspect was contacted during a traffic stop and was driving with a suspended license.  The suspect was advised she would be summoned in the mail with a court date.

The suspect was contacted for investigation of a possible Assault. The suspect attempted to flee and violently resisted the officer when he attempted to intervene.  Officer was dragged a short distance by the suspect vehicle as he fled the scene. Responding Officers last saw the suspect fleeing at a high rate of speed westbound on I90 toward Seattle. The suspect and his female passenger were positively identified by multiple officers at the scene.

Redmond Police requested assistance from Bellevue K9 in reference to a Commercial Burglary in progress. K9 Officers arrived on scene and after clearing the building, located the suspect hiding nearby after a short track.
