Bellevue detectives are investigating two separate shootings this past weekend. The first shooting occurred at Crossroads Park early Sunday morning. Officers responded to Overlake Hospital just after midnight on June 23rd, after two people showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds. The 18 and 22-year-old victims told investigators that they were sitting in their car at the park when another car drove by. There was an argument that escalated into a physical altercation where the suspect fired a gun. The victims suffered serious injuries. Detectives are actively pursuing leads in this case.
The second shooting happened at 1:30 a.m. on June 23rd in 100 Blk 109th Ave SE. The occupants reported that someone was shooting into the home while they were sleeping. Bellevue police were able to safely get the occupants out of the home and determine that an unknown suspect had shot multiple times at the house. There were no injuries.
The Bellevue Police Department continues to investigate these shootings. Anyone with information regarding either case is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit a tip online.

The Bellevue Police Department (BPD) Safe Place program now has over 60 businesses, schools, and organizations offering a safe and secure place for victims of hate crimes. Although Bellevue enjoys a low rate of violent crime, discrimination and crime related to the city’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ+) residents and visitors still occur. These locations throughout the city display the Safe Place signage and offer a place for anyone to seek help who feels they’ve been a victim of bias-related crimes.
Online registration is now open for the fall Community Police Academy. The Community Academy is a 12-week program that dives into patrol procedures and accident investigations, firearms and use of force, 911 communications, narcotics and vice, K-9, defensive tactics, SWAT and more.
